MAZEIKIAI — Today, September 27, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, Algirdas Brazauskas, met with the President of YUKOS Oil Company, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, President of YUKOS RM, Nikolay Bychkov, and First Vice President of YUKOS RM and Chairman of Mazeikiu Nafta’s Board, Mikhail Brudno, at the Mazeikiai Refinery. After the meeting, Prime Minister Algirdas Brazauskas together with the top managers of YUKOS took a tour of the Refinery and had a meeting with Mazeikiu Nafta employees.
According to Tom Schneider, the General Director of Mazeikiu Nafta, “We all are interested in success of Mazeikiu Nafta. YUKOS is ready to take on the challenge of managing the complex for the benefit of all the shareholders. Mazeikiu Nafta will go on with modernization projects designed to make the company a profitable competitor in European refined products markets. The meeting today between the Prime Minister of Lithuania, Algirdas Brazauskas, and Mikhail Khodorkovsky is a part of cooperation between the major shareholders to make improvements to ensure the success of Mazeikiu Nafta”.
Algirdas Brazauskas visited Mazeikiu Nafta for the first time since he was appointed Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania. Mikhail Khodorkovsky along with Nikolay Bychkov and Mikhail Brudno came to Lithuania yesterday and started their visit to Mazeikiu Nafta from visiting the Butinge Terminal.
