MAZEIKIAI—Mazeikiu Nafta this week produced a quantity of high quality Arctic specification diesel fuel. The production of such a product has been implemented in Mazeikiu Nafta to meet the needs of its customers.
Arctic Grade 2 diesel fuel has properties, which allow it to perform at very low temperatures in the range of -32 degrees and prevents filter plugging. The specification of Mazeikiu Nafta’s diesel fuel fully satisfies requirements for a product of Arctic Grade 2 specifications. To compare, diesel fuel of winter specification in compliance with Lithuanian standards has a cold filter plugging point at -26 degrees.
Lab testing at Mazeikiu Nafta indicates that Arctic specification diesel fuel meets requirements for a fuel of diesel engines of the latest generation. Mazeikiu Nafta’s product is supplied with the certificate of quality.
According to P. Nelson English, the General Manager of Mazeikiu Nafta, —“We were planning production of Arctic specification diesel fuel in the future, but the Government made a request that Mazeikiu Nafta start the production earlier than planned. We honoured the request and demonstrated that we can, with the current refinery equipment, produce significant quantities of Arctic Grade 2 diesel fuel.”
