MAÞEIKIAI—Mažeikių Nafta is prepared to switch to marketing winter-type diesel fuel starting November 15. This grade of diesel fuel meets all EU and Lithuanian quality requirements and is designed for low wintertime ambient temperatures.
According to Thomas Schneider, acting General Director of Mažeikių Nafta, “Our customers know that this grade of diesel fuel insures reliable operation of their automobiles in the conditions of low winter temperatures. In mid-November, when air temperature usually falls remarkably, we start to supply our customers with winter-type diesel fuel and so provide the market with a high-quality product developed for this colder period of the year.”
Mažeikių Nafta’s winter-type diesel fuel would lose fluidity at temperatures as low as 26 degrees centigrade below zero; therefore, in usual wintertime conditions it maintains all required properties and prevents engines from clogging and false operation.
