MAZEIKIAI — Mazeikiu Nafta refinery has been back on stream at full rates since Saturday, May 15. The change out of catalyst in two process units was completed before May 8 and the refinery started delivering products on May 9.

Along with the change of the catalyst Mazeikiu Nafta employees and specialized contractors performed a number of projects to advance the modernization program. The projects are aimed at meeting new EU requirements for clean fuel specifications and EU emissions legislation. Mazeikiu Nafta is planning to invest 66,75 million USD into Modernization program during fiscal year 2004.

“Change of the catalyst and other projects of various complexity were performed in accordance with the best industry practice”, stresses P. Nelson English, General Director of Маzeikiu Nafta. 

“Another key issue for the company is labor safety. We are proud that we executed approximately 145 thousand working hours without a single lost time injury.”
