21-01-2025

International energy terminal operator KN Energies has strengthened its strategic partnership with one of its largest clients, AB ORLEN Lietuva, a member of the Polish ORLEN capital group. As the ten-year transshipment contract term expires, new commitments for loading at the Klaipėda liquid energy products terminal have been signed for three years, with a possibility to extend them.

Darius Šilenskis, CEO of AB KN Energies, notes that a constructive dialogue was successfully held with ORLEN Lietuva, during which the needs and expectations of both parties were considered, resulting in a mutually beneficial agreement.

"We are pleased to extend our cooperation with strategic partner ORLEN Lietuva. Through this agreement, we will ensure the continuity of operations in liquid energy products terminals and the continuity of investments, which are crucial for both countries. We have been, are, and will remain a significant and reliable part of ORLEN Lietuva's supply chain. Going forward, we will continue to enhance service quality and ensure the reliability and safety of managed infrastructure," stated D. Šilenskis.

Zbigniew Paszkowicz, CEO of ORLEN Lietuva, welcomes the agreement with the long-standing partners and emphasises its importance for a smooth logistics chain, which ensures the stable operation of the Mažeikiai plant and creates benefits for the entire value chain - for the state-owned companies, the country's business and the Lithuanian economy.

"KN Energies is one of our main partners in Lithuania, ensuring a stable supply of quality products to the Lithuanian domestic market as well as to many foreign countries. The whole team of the company are reliable partners, so I am happy to extend this partnership, and I believe that together we will create value for both companies and the Lithuanian economy as a whole," – says Z. Paszkowicz.

Through KN Energies, ORLEN Lietuva has been transhipping liquid energy products for more than a decade. It also utilizes the terminal operated by KN in Subačius and, since 2023, has been cooperating in diesel fuel handling operations at the Marijampolė terminal leased by KN.
