MAZEIKIAI - Following minor damage to Butinge’s Single Point Mooring (SPM) buoy on December 29, 2005, Mazeikiu Nafta has completed all of the inspection, repair work and post-repair inspection activities necessary to return to operation. Repairs were performed in compliance with requirements of SOFEC (designer and manufacturer of SPM). All repairs have been inspected and certified by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) for return to operation.
Mazeikiu Nafta has co-ordinated all activities with the appropriate Governmental authorities by providing them with complete information.

All parties involved are in agreement that Butinge Terminal can safely resume its operations.

Loading of a tanker "Norma" starts today at approximately 5 p.m.
